It's June, the season of weddings and matrimony, and love is in the air!!...that is, until your groom-to-be starts having second thoughts and suggests some "prenuptial" arrangements before the big day. Well, if that's the case...a little weekend getaway is in order! So call your friends and turn that bachelorette party into a "F@ck Prenup!" party in Vegas!

Anything goes on "The Strip", especially when it comes to the Vegas couture of fun and flashy accessories! For all you pre-wedding SRBs (especially those who may be rethinking the idea of "til death do us part"), call attention with a "F#ck Prenup" SRB tank paired with thigh-high Chloe Belt boots and a Jimmy Choo-inspired turquoise Ramona Tote (where you can stash all your winnings). Bring Vegas to the desert with an optically-stirring sequin mini skirt, along with a touch of the desert night to Vegas with cool, blue colors of turquoise stones and aquatic gem jewelry.

Remember, anything goes in Vegas! You never know what may happen, or who you'll meet :) So shake off that "prenup" stress, drink a mind-erasing cocktail and have a fabulous (and memorable) summer!
What's just over five feet tall with fiery red hair and ZERO verbal filter? It's our SRB of the month, Kathy Griffin!

It goes without saying that Kathy has evolved into a hero among SRBs (with the inclusion of wannabe, D-List dwelling SRBs in the making). Heavily influenced by one of our past SRBs of the Month, Joan Rivers, Kathy has established her own unyielding feminine presence throughout the world of comedy, mixing wicked, unabashed humor with a sense of endearing, self-deprecating (yet self-aggrandizing) anti-heroism.

Born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1960, Kathy was the youngest of five children...hence, the demand for attention. As the daughter of first generation Irish-Americans (one parent being her hysterical, box-o-wine-toting mother, Maggie), Kathy has grown to become a voice for the the feisty underdog who thrives to challenge the habits of social graces and stereotype. Basically, the bitch does and says whatever the f#@! she wants.

Kathy has become an icon of the reality-TV generation, succeeding to draw attention to her self-appointed "D-List" status that was earned by decades of bit parts and sporadic appearances in television (remember that Seinfeld episode....remember??), film (yes, she was in Pulp Fiction...) and throughout the stand-up comedy circuit. She solidified her celebrity status with her Bravo reality series, "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List", which won the Emmy for Outstanding Reality Series in 2005 (where in her acceptance speech, she famously expressed that "suck it, Jesus", refusing to thank Him the way so many of her peers often do).

We love you, Kathy Griffin! We would be a part of your entourage any day :)
It's that time of year, so start making your Wish Lists!

No, no...not the list that comes around during the holiday season...

I'm referring to the "Post-Tax Season" Wish List: the list of all the wonderful things you can get with that anticipated tax refund! You've survived the dreaded tax season, so why not reward yourself with a well-deserved gift at the courtesy of Uncle Sam!?
When I launched the Skinny Rich Bitch brand, my goal was not
just to create bold, room-stopping statements on classic white tees,
but to print the SRB brand on the best fabric I could get my hands on. Believe me, you can’t print “Fresh from

Let's face it...preparing for a job interview is awful. What to wear, what to say, remembering what you lied about on your resume...its exhausting!

However, whether you have the job in the bag or you know its just not going to happen, you might as well make a lasting impression and have some fun with it! (PLEASE NOTE: The following advice may not be suited for certain professionals seeking work...accountants, paralegals and financial advisers, I'm referring to you.)

It goes without saying that the job market has been pretty challenging over the last few years, making it nearly impossible to find the perfect gig. With such heightened competition, even the most enthusiastic, job-seeking SRB is forced to get creative with a first impression a prospective employer will never forget!

First off, make sure that it's clearly communicated that you are one connected SRB, which will be dually noted when wearing your SRB "Socialite" tank (which is even more empowering when paired with a fitted blazer or a feminine tuxedo jacket). Bauble up your ensemble with popping accents of ruby red stones (real or fake...if you nailed your entrance, NO ONE's gonna ask) paired with the striking, Moulin Rouge-red platform heels and matching clutch.

Now, for the sake of your interviewer, its good to keep a level of focus. To prevent your potential boss from becoming transfixed by your accessories, soften the ensemble with sleek, charcoal grey dress pants.

Happy job hunting!

This spring, we pay tribute to the adorable (yet stylishly fierce) Sarah Jessica Parker as our SRB of the Month!

SJP has proven to be one of the most influential style icons of the early new millennium. With her unconventional beauty and girlish charisma, the actress and producer has proven that women of all ages can exude a number of fearless, feminine qualities: strength, wit, unabashed sexuality, humble graciousness and timeless elegance.

Since her portrayal of "Carrie Bradshaw" in the groundbreaking HBO series, Sex and the City, the voice of SJP still echoes in the minds of most women when faced with any personal dilemma, from trivial (What do I wear??) to life-altering (Is he the one??). Picking up where such female pioneers in television like That Girl, Mary Tyler Moore and Murphy Brown left off, the character of "Carrie" intimately identified with women's enduring desire to "have it all"-the job, the man, the family-while maintaining their independence and never compromising their sense of self.

Looking back on SJP's past, the actress has led a phenomenal life and career, proving to be somewhat of a true Cinderella-story. As a child of humble beginnings, SJP was one of eight children (that's right...eight!), born in Nelsonville, OH. Growing up just outside of Cincinnati, SJP went on to train as a dancer and performer at Cincinnati's School for Creative and Performing Arts. After moving on to New York City to train at the School of American Ballet, SJP was cast in the lead role of Annie on Broadway, the most coveted role for all child actresses throughout the Broadway theater community.

SJP's career as a teen actress in the 1980s steadily went on, where she portrayed the "ugly ducking" in the television series Square Pegs (1982) to the "blossoming swan" in a few dance-inspired '80s classics like Girls Just Want to Have Fun (1984) and Footloose (1984). Her career as an adult actress took off after she was cast in Steve Martin's comedic film, L.A. Story (1990), debuting SJP's indelible energy, comedic timing and unconventional, stylish aesthetic. In the 1990s, SJP's career continued to grow with a series of successful theatrical films including Hocus Pocus (1993), Honeymoon in Vegas (1992), Ed Wood (1994), Miami Rhapsody (1995), The First Wives Club (1996) and Mars Attacks (1996).

In 1997 (a year before taking on the role of "Carrie Bradshaw"), SJP married fellow actor Matthew Broderick in New York City (just after they had worked together in the Broadway show, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying in 1995). The couple went on to have a son, James Wilke in 2002 and twin daughters, Marion and Tabitha, in 2009 (the twins were born through a surrogate).

When her seven year, Emmy-winning run on Sex and the City came to a close in 2004, SJP became an ongoing influence throughout the fashion industry as well as acting as a spokeswoman for such brands as Garnier and Gap. In 2007, SJP partnered with the clothing store franchise Steve & Barry's to launch her own clothing line, Bitten. SJP also remains to be an active member of the Hollywood's Women's Political Committee. Long and short of it, SJP is one busy SRB!

SJP: you are an enduring inspirations to all us SRB's out there, just looking to have it all! A Skinny Rich Bitch doesn't waste any time when it comes to finding love. Just like every obstacle or challenge that falls in her path, a SRB knows what she wants and knows when to make her move!

When it comes to finding love on Valentine's Day, forget the flowers, the romantic dinners and those stupid candied hearts! It takes a little more to get to the heart of a real SRB.

From one SRB to another, here are a few secret tips to finding the perfect man:

WARNING! These are not "strict" guidelines and of course should be applied with caution and on a case by case basis :)

1. First and foremost: when it comes to finding love, love yourself first...otherwise, no one is going to be having any fun...

2. Find a man who compliments your sense of style and confidence. To be clear, the phrase is "COMPLIMENTS your style", not "COMPETES with your style". All you need is for your mate to be raiding your closet and hijacking your look.

3. Find a man that supports your occasional decision to do a little cosmetic tweaking here and there (i.e. a little botox, a shave off the ol' schnoz...), however knows to NEVER SUGGEST IT!

4. Find a man that is not intimidated by a financially independent and successful bitch!

5. Find a man that enjoys the finer things in life and never apologizes for it.

6. Find a man that NEVER uses the phrase "Bros before hos!"

7. Find a man without baggage. However, if he has a crazy ex...that's fine, as long as she doesn't know your name...or where you live...

8. Find a man that likes to keep things spontaneous but doesn't keep you guessing (that s#@* can make a bitch crazy).

9. Find a man that takes care of himself and, as a result, always looks good.

10. Find a man that thinks your SRB "Genetically Fortunate" tank top is ADORABLE!

To all you SRB's in love: don't hesitate to add any of your own tips to our list!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8613009313040746065.post-64838378813725087962013-02-03T09:06:00.001-08:002013-02-28T11:26:41.785-08:00Joan Rivers: The First Lady of Comedy and Queen of the Red Carpet

The Emmy's, The Globes, The Oscars...whatever the event, there is one
skinny, rich bitch that always reigns supreme over the Red Carpet Award
season. In recognition of the upcoming Academy Awards, this month's SRB
of the hour is the indomitable comedienne and television personality Joan Rivers.

Whether you love her, hate her or just love to hate her, Rivers undeniably remains as a seminal pioneer for women in comedy. Born Joan Alexandra Molinsky on June 8th, 1933 in Brooklyn, the stage name Joan Rivers was created under the advice of an agent as Rivers began to pursue her career as a performer. Known for her brash, biting humor, Rivers' unrelenting endurance and iconic voice has led to a career spanning over five decades and still continues, surpassing the legacy of many of her male counterparts and peers.

Throughout the '50s and '60s, Rivers was esteemed by some of the most powerful figures in television from Jack Paar to Ed Sullivan to Johnny Carson, who went on to be her industry "father figure" and mentor. After making her first appearance on The Tonight Show in 1965 (when Carson said to her on the air, "you're gonna be a star"), Rivers remained very close with Carson, eventually becoming his primary guest host on The Tonight Show into the early eighties. To this day, she still remains as the only woman to sit behind the desk of The Tonight Show franchise.

While her humor is known to be at the expense of other public figures and celebrities, Rivers always counters her comedic approach with her own sense of self-deprecation. Her blunt, shameless and often shocking portrayal of the female identity in her standup routine opened many doors for female performers. From appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show seven months pregnant to talking about the reality of sex, marriage, aging and cosmetic surgery, audiences never knew what to expect when Rivers took the stage. She was the first woman to bring the feminine "gift of gab" to television before Oprah, Rosie or Ellen, hosting late night to daytime talk shows where she eventually coined the phrase, "Can we talk?".

Amongst the rejection, judgement and tragedy endured, Rivers has proven to be on the the toughest motherf@#$# in the industry. In 1986, FOX offered Rivers The Late Show with Joan Rivers, putting her against The Tonight Show and Johnny Carson. After she accepted, Carson was so offended by this move he never spoke to Rivers again, consequently ending their twenty-year friendship and initiating a blacklist against Rivers on NBC. She did not appear on the network until 2009 as a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice. In 1987, right after FOX cancelled The Late Show with Joan Rivers, Edgar Rosenberg, Rivers' husband of over twenty years and the father of her only child, Melissa Rivers, committed suicide. It was a series of events that only the toughest SRB could survive and conquer. Rivers unflinchingly moved on with her career, releasing comedy albums, books and establishing her daytime persona with her Emmy-award winning talk show, The Joan Rivers Show. She then went on to become the most iconic personality throughout the Hollywood Award season, becoming the E! Entertainment Network's host for the Pre-Award Red Carpet Show for the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards as well as the host for E!'s Fashion Police, taking ownership of the phrase, "Who are you wearing?"

What makes Joan Rivers a true heroine in our eyes is that the woman is fearless. She can say anything, pushing the most taboo topics to the limit without regret or apology. She is also unstoppable, carrying the classic show business work ethic of never falling behind if you want to stay in front. There is no other way of saying it, but this woman WORKS HARD and never even thinks of stopping. It's just not an option. In a cameo of the FX series Louis, when Louis CK admits to Rivers that he quit a gig, Rivers exclaims, "What do you mean you quit? Nobody quits. Are you crazy?"

We worship you, Ms. Rivers, and can't wait to see you out on the red carpet.

Who could
possibly be more qualified to kick off our profiles of SRBs, who we heart,
heart, heart, than the woman who said, “You can never be too rich, or too
thin?” We are talking about none
other than Wallis Simpson, a poor girl from Pennsylvania – savvy enough to
ditch her given name Bessie at some point in her youth – who would rise through
the social ranks and, as if to back up her point, get a king to abdicate his
throne for her, to become the Duchess of Windsor.

Why we love
her?

For
starters, there’s the royal thing.
How cool is that? Not fake,
self-anointed, but genuine British royalty. So her new rellies snubbed her. So what? That’s
we’re talking about. Her attitude,
bitches… and take-no-prisoners ambition.

Even if she
wasn’t a queen, she lived like a queen and was most definitely festooned with
bling fit for a queen. After her
death, her collection of jewelry sold for a nifty $12.5 million. Not bad for a few Cartier baubles.

With her
unswervingly simple and immaculate take on fashion, she became a style icon who
was constantly re-inventing her image.
Could Wallis be where Madge got her inspiration, since Her Madgeness was
inspired enough to make a movie about the couple’s love affair. Titled W.E. –
after Wallis and Edward, duh – the film won some awards, for Best
Costumes. We would hope so!

The Duchess
was heard to have said, “I would rather shop than eat.”

In her
earlier years in China, married to her first, minor-diplomat husband (Eddie was
husband number three’s a charm), she was renowned for brilliant conversation and
smart enough to learn the one singularly most important phrase in Mandarin,
“Boy, pass me the champagne.” Cheers!

Tomes have
been written about her and to this day, she’s still an enigma.

But the kicker? After meeting her, Hitler said, “She
would have made a great queen.”
Kudos indeed from one of the very baddest boys ever to go down in
history.

We salute
you Wallis Simpson. You’ll always
be a queen in our eyes.
